The Career Key® Assessment
Career Key users' assess their resemblance to the six Holland personality types by combining the results of two sections. First, they check the occupations that appeal to them from a list of occupations carefully selected to represent the six Holland personality types (Holland, 1985a; 1997; Holland's original measure, the Vocational Preference Inventory, used this approach exclusively.). And, second, they rate statements for each of the six personality types for how well they describe the person. These statements are drawn from John L. Holland's theory (1985a, 1997), where he describes each type according to four characteristics: preferred activities, competencies, self-perceptions, and values.
